Industry Self - Help
One of the key roles of APSC has been the creation of industry self-help mechanisms
to assist our members in upholding high standards of managerial professionalism
in the management of individual schools. We want to provide our members with the
most comprehensive suite of resources and services to enable them to benchmark themselves
with the best in class systems, policies and procedures in place.
This will ensure quality management leadership practices and adherence to the highest
ethical standards. We will also promote the interests of our member PEIs by initiating
on-going dialogues with local governmental bodies; overseas authorities and foreign
embassies, mediate in resolving issues between member schools and students and foster
the clustering of PEIs by encouraging them to pool their resources so as to enable
them to be in a better position to satisfy the needs of the market and demands for
higher education.
In addition, we will monitor the changing private educational landscape and encourage
our member institutions to design effective & relevant training and education programmes.
We will work closely with other agencies such as SPRING, ICA, STB and the Council
of Private Education (CPE).
The role is to assist members having difficulties in continuing operations due to
financial or other reasons. It will also coordinate with other agencies such as
SPRING, ICA, STB and CPE, whenever necessary, to promote self-regulation.
